Formula One is the annual world championships for Car drivers and constructors and is the most popular car racing event in the world. There around 18 races held in different parts of the world in the year. Major car manufacturers like Ferrari,Mercedes Benz (McLaren), BMW , Toyota, Honda and Renault participate in these races.
The cars used for Formula One racing are single seater cars specifically designed for high speed racing. The wheels of the cars are not covered, and cars have aerofoil wings to enhance their speed. The performance of a car depends both on the skill of the driver and design of the car. Formula One is one of the most expensive sports, and some teams spend more than $400 million a year.
Points are assigned to drivers and constructors based on their performance in an individual race. Each constructor may have more than one driver in their team participating in the race. At the end of the 18 races which constitute a season, the driver with the maximum number of points wins the Formula One (F1) drivers championship.
